Plot Summary
Miles Apart starts in December of 2014. Miles Underwood is a die hard San Diego Chargers fan and who lives in San Francisco. He attends a game between the two at Levi's stadium by himself. The local 49ers fans don't like anyone who wears a jersey of the road team and they start booing him. Out of nowhere a man punches him and Miles ends up on the ground. Miles counters and lands a punch to the man and runs away but remembers seeing the blood he wiped from his mouth on the other man's face.
Miles gets a knock on his door on Christmas Eve and sees the police. They tell him he's banned from the stadium until 2019 and that he's twins with the man from the stadium because their DNA samples matched. The police used the blood from the man's face in order to track Miles. Miles vaguely remembers the rest as he sees the family of the other man, whose name was Dorian. Miles searches for Dorian Underwood on the Internet and finds he has a more successful life than him. Miles calls his mom and finds out he was betrayed. So Miles sets out for revenge on Dorian.
Miles hires two henchmen to tie up Dorian. They close in on Dorian at a coffee shop and Miles finds out via text that he's tied up. So Miles strolls through the streets happy as his plan is going to be successful. He takes the place of Dorian and since they are twins, nobody will find out. One of his henchmen makes him a name badge and Miles is going to take Dorian's place as a high-ranking executive at Google. Underwood gets greeted by his workers as if he was Dorian. He attends meetings but the CEO, Larry Page, starts to suspect that the real Dorian is missing. Moments into one meeting, the real Dorian storms in and confronts Miles. He shares some of his ideas that he came up with while being tied up and Page loves them. Page calls for the police and Miles is taken to court for impersonating an executive. He is sentenced to 10 years in jail.
Miles hates prison. One of his cell mates is a Charger fan and tells Miles that he had been set up. Miles finds out later that he had been set up too; Dorian switched Miles' DNA sample for his and told his mom to lie. He also says that their last names just happened to be similar. He hates the Chargers and their fans and his plan almost failed but his actual twin brother, Daryl, saw when the henchmen closed in on him and came to the rescue. Miles realized his jealousy got in the way of a life he already had and he let once incident get in the way of the bigger picture, a life of happiness.
